Set within a private garden above the western shore, Casa della Luce pairs the grace of a Liberty-era villa with a quietly contemporary interior. Every principal room is oriented toward the changing light of the lake — the quality the house is named for.
A four-year restoration completed in 2021 kept what mattered: the original terrazzo, the stuccowork on the piano nobile, the iron and glass of the winter garden. Everything behind those surfaces is new. Services, insulation, glazing and climate control were rebuilt to a standard the original architects could not have imagined.
Five bedroom suites occupy the upper two floors. The lakeside loggia runs the full width of the house and is, in practice, the room the family uses most. Below the garden, a discreet lower level holds a cellar, a gymnasium and direct covered access to the private dock.
The grounds descend in four planted terraces — camellia, magnolia, hydrangea and old wisteria — to a boathouse and mooring with rights held since the original build. Fourteen minutes to Bellagio by water.
